The Three in One

The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit are coming forth from each other in a dimensional aspect that we cannot fully comprehend from our “three-spatial dimensional world” vantage point. God is outside of our dimensional world, and outside of time. We only experience a small portion of His reality in this world.

The inspiration of this painting is The Ancient of Days (from Daniel chapter 7) “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of His head was white like wool.” A few verses later (in the same chapter): “before me was one like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

In Revelation chapter 1, the description of Jesus matches the Ancient of Days of Daniel. “Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands; and in the middle of the lampstands, I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash. His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.”

The fact that Jesus is described as looking like the Ancient of Days is no surprise – because, in John 12:45, Jesus says “He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me”. Jesus asks “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me?” in John 14:10., Jesus articulates “that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.” (John chapter 30). In John 10:30, Jesus declares, "I and the Father are one,". Also in John14:7 Jesus says “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”

In Acts chapter 5, Peter confronts Ananias for lying to the Holy Spirit and concludes, “You have not lied to men; but to God.” This statement affirms the Holy Spirit’s deity. The God referred to in Isaiah 63:10 is called the Holly Spirit in Psalms 78:40. Holy Spirit was sent from both the Father and the Son. In Scripture, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of both Father and Son. Thus the painting shows Jesus coming from the Father, and the Spirit coming from the Father and Son. In 2 Corinthians, the Greek word “kyrios” = Lord is used of the Holy Spirit: which indicates that the Holy Spirit is also Yahweh - is God. Psalm 78:40 describes man rebelling and grieving God. In Isaiah 63:10, the rebelling and grieving is against Holy Spirit.

Also shown in the painting, are the Seven Spirits of God as orbs of fire. [The term “orbs” is used to trigger religious folk - who probably don’t like my “graven images” either].

The right hand of God represents His presence, power, provision and salvation. Jesus is referred to as the right hand of God.
